The 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan' was launched on 02 AUG 2026.

The campaign follows a 100-week action plan, featuring activities every Sunday.
The initiative began as a pilot project in Kashi and expanded with 125 spiritual organizations.

India's government approved a new scheme to boost floating solar capacity with energy storage, leveraging existing water bodies.

The Pradhan Mantri Surya Sarovar Yojana (PM-SSY) was approved on 31 July 2026.
It aims to develop 5,000 MW of Floating Solar Photovoltaic (FSPV) projects with co-located Energy Storage Systems (ESS).
The ESS will have a minimum storage capacity of two hours (10,000 MWh).
The scheme has an outlay of ₹5,070 crore and runs from FY 2026–27 to FY 2030–31.
It is expected to reduce 10 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually and create 16,000–17,000 jobs.

💡 Remember: PM-SSY is for 5,000 MW floating solar with ESS by 2030–31, costing ₹5,070 crore.
