New Judges Appointed to High Courts by President
The President, in consultation with the Chief Justice of India, has appointed judges and additional judges to several High Courts.
- The President appointed Advocates/Judicial Officers as Judges/Additional Judges.
- Madras High Court received 6 Judges and 9 Additional Judges.
- Calcutta High Court saw 7 Additional Judges appointed.
- Karnataka High Court received 8 Additional Judges.
- Madhya Pradesh High Court had 6 Additional Judges appointed.

XI BRICS Culture Ministers' Meeting Adopts Bhopal Declaration
The **XI BRICS Culture Ministers' Meeting** in Bhopal concluded with the adoption of the **Bhopal Declaration**, fostering cultural cooperation.
- The meeting was held on August 8, 2026, under India's BRICS Chairship.
- 14 countries participated, including 10 BRICS Member Countries and 4 Partner Countries.

Dr. Ambedkar Schemes Merged, Inter-Caste Marriage Incentives Released
Two Dr. Ambedkar Foundation schemes were merged into a Centrally Sponsored Scheme to avoid duplication, effective March 31, 2023.
- Dr. Ambedkar Inter-Caste Marriage Scheme merged with a Centrally Sponsored Scheme.
- Dr. Ambedkar Atrocity Victims Relief Scheme also merged with the Centrally Sponsored Scheme.
- Merger effective from March 31, 2023 to prevent scheme duplication.
- The Dr. Ambedkar Foundation released ₹9 crore for 385 inter-caste marriage cases.
