MMDR Amendment Bill, 2026: Uniformity in Mineral Taxation
The **MMDR Amendment Bill, 2026** aims to create a uniform fiscal framework for the mining sector by amending the **Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957**.
- The Bill limits State Governments from levying new taxes on mineral rights or lands, except as prescribed by the Central Government.

6th Positive Indigenisation List for Defence Notified
The Department of Defence Production (DDP) notified the 6th Positive Indigenisation List (PIL) to boost self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

- It includes 16 items for the Indian Coast Guard and 389 items for DPSUs.

UIDAI completed over 2 crore Mandatory Biometric Updates (MBU) for school children nationwide through a special drive.
